Role Overview

We are looking for a Studio Manager who is organized, community-minded, and ready to help us grow our impact and community!

The Studio Manager is a contract role that sits at the intersection of membership, bookings, and live events. You will be the primary point of contact for current and prospective studio members, manage venue bookings, and play a key operational role in launching our Event Lab programming in partnership with our Executive Director. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who thrives in creative, fast-moving environments, as well as someone who stays hyper-organized with spreadsheets and Google docs.

Job Duties

Event Programming
  • Support the Executive Director in launching and running the Brave New Spaces Event Lab, a new public activation series
  • Execute production logistics for two monthly anchor events:
    • The Production Room (name TBD) (launching June) – In partnership with the Executive Director and Facilitator Lead, coordinate topics and special guest teachers for The Production Room workshops (July, August, September)
    • Brave New Spaces Unplugged (launching July) – For this new, intimate concert series, in partnership with the Executive Director, source and coordinate featured artists for Brave New Spaces Unplugged (August, September, October)
  • Manage all open call producer communications – tracking applications, coordinating scheduling, and supporting selected producers with venue logistics
  • Manage all artist and facilitator logistics: outreach, bios, materials, run of show, and confirmations
  • Manage ticket sales and event pages for all in-house events via Ticket Tailor
  • Support day-of production for open call producer events, ensuring venue standards and event flow are maintained
  • Assist with post-event wrap: attendee counts, feedback collection, and basic metrics tracking for impact reporting
Membership Management
  • Manage ongoing communication and community building with current resident members
  • Conduct tours and lead communications with prospective members through the full onboarding process
  • Support member onboarding and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience for new Studio Residency members
Studio & Venue Booking
  • Manage inbound studio rental inquiries and convert leads to confirmed bookings via website and Peerspace
  • Manage calendars for the Studio and coordinate logistics with the CAST team who manage the overall building
  • Coordinate logistics for venue rentals including access, setup, and vendor coordination
  • Serve as on-site Venue Manager for studio events – managing day-of operations, venue readiness, and point-of-contact for renters and guests

  3. Partner with Executive Director to bring on 10 new members to the Studio Residency Creative Program

Role Type: Part-time Contract

Contract Term: Mid-June – early September 2026 (3 months, with potential to extend pending sales goals being met)

Compensation: $35/hour

Hours: 15-18 hours per week (hours may increase on event weeks) 

Reports to: Executive Director

Location: This is a fully on-site role. All hours are worked at 447 Minna Street, San Francisco.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 3+ years in event production, venue operations, or space management – client-facing experience required
  • Strong communicator and relationship-builder; equally comfortable in an email inbox and running a room
  • Resourceful problem solver who stays calm when things shift (and they will)
  • Self-directed and thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
  • Tech-savvy and able to learn platforms independently. Familiarity with Google Gsuite, Ticket Tailor, Dubsado, or Peerspace is a plus.
  • Culturally competent – you know how to write and speak thoughtfully about BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and marginalized communities
  • Experience with artists, arts orgs, or nonprofits is a plus
